This work
was conducted during a long period because students worked on fair trade in the first year of the
project and during the second year they
had to do a ten-week internship in social
service structures.

December
2012: lessons about migrants included in the curriculum.

In February 2012 : intervention of
Jehanne Surel, a social assistant when the German students came. She presented gypsies, their
history and migration from India
to France, through central
and southern Europe. She also presented the
area created to welcome travelers and she explained how it works.

During
spring 2013, there was the first meeting with leaders of Manouche-Gadjé
association; they presented the association, how it worked, its activities and aims
(storybooks made with children). They talked with students about what it is
possible to do together.

September
2013: realization of questionnaire for gypsies who are sedentary and for those
who live on the temporary camp.

On
September 20th : it‘s the first meeting in Quartier du Rond between
several students and Nanou, co-leader of Manouche-Gadjé association. Some
students will come back later to take pictures and talk to people.

September 26th, meeting with gypsies from the temporary camp, guided by Jehanna

From
October to March 2014 students worked about the different subjects, pictures, layout. This work was carried out between their training periods and examinations. Some
students returned to Quartier du Rond to meet Marie, the oldest person of this
site, and her family.

2014 : students wrote letters of invitation, created posters.

Early
May : four students presented their
work and exhibition on a local radio.

On
May 12 : preview of the exhibition « be informed to
understand »in the “Cercle des Citoyens” an associative café in Mont de
Marsan.

On
June 28: The exhibition was lent to the Café Music, a cultural association organizing
a specific show about the different cultures in Jean
Rameau public park.

Early
September, the exhibition will be given to the Manouche-Gadjé association to be presented during the association forum.
